Ahhh Yes. Valentine's Day.

St. Valentine. A martyr we know nothing about concretely except that he was buried at the Via Flaminia near Rome on his Feast Day, February 14th. Leave it to religion to create a holiday to supercede Pagan tradition. None-the-less, I, being a married lady, fall prey to it's clutches once a year. Every year. For the rest of my natural life. And though I do not object to it, I suppose I've got an opinion anytime during the year when the calendar dictates what I'm "supposed" to do on a particular day. I'd be much happier if my husband swept me off on some random Tuesday in September or July to a romantic dinner & gave me a card & some head. But every February 14th, the two of us are running around trying to find the right card for the other or desperate to unearth some small token to exchange & well, it annoys me. It's a joke. Much like Columbus Day. God, don't even get me started.
